Paul Hunter hat gestern in einem unglaublichen Spiel zum dritten mal die Masters gewonnen nach 2001 und 2002.Er besiegte Ronnie O`Sullivan im Finale und bekam 100 000 Pfund,O?Sullivan immerhin noch 50 000 Pfund.Das Game war vorrallem von Spannung gepraegt am ende stand es in den Frames 10-9 fuer Hunter.Dabei fuerhte O`Sullivan schon mit 6-1 und 7-2 und 9-8 Frames zwischenzeitlich,doch dann hollte Hunter auf,und schaffte sogar 5 Century Breaks in einem Game.Auch in den letzten 2 Frames,lag O`Sullivan vorne,schaffte es aber nicht denn Vorsprung zu halten.Der ausschlaggebende Punkt war das Safety Game der beiden,wo Sullivan in der afternoon session ganz klar unterlegen war und einen Frame nachdem anderen abgeben musste.
Hunter meinte:
I played really well all day. Even though I was 6-2 behind I'd made two centuries and I knew I was playing well. I was 6-2 down a few years ago against Fergal and I just stuck in there and that is what I did again and it went my way. To play Ronnie in the final, especially at Wembley, is just a dream for me and the crowd was awesome."
Ronnie O`Sullivan fuegte hinzu:
I enjoyed it and you've got to just take your hat off to Paul. He showed good bottle at the end and from 6-2 down a lot of people would have just thrown the towel in but he played fantastic and deserved to win. I'm pleased for him
