Regionale UFC Champions/Mehr UFC Shows in Zukunft?

Die UFC plant offenbar weiterhin viel mehr Shows abzuhalten wie die 36 UFC Shows 2012 (3 Shows pro Monat). UFC President Dana White meinte dazu:“The bottom line is as we start kicking off all these 'Ultimate Fighters' in other countries, it's going to open up the floodgates for a lot more fighters, and guys are going to need a lot more experience. So, we're working on it. Lorenzo and I were literally talking about this before the show started tonight, and we're coming up with some ideas on how to – believe it or not – do more events so that we can feed these markets that are dying for it. The U.K. keeps terrorizing us. Ireland is part of it, but (we're) going back to Ireland, too. And Scotland. A guy here tonight was asking about Norway. Germany we haven't been back to. Every time we got to Australia, it's insane. There are a lot of markets that are starved. India – we're going to go to India. The list goes on and on and on. China we were talking about tonight, too. But we're working on figuring out how to feed all these markets so they don't have to wait so long.”

Wie es also aussieht wird es ab 2013 noch mehr UFC Shows im Jahr geben, ausserdem gibt es Ideen zwei Shows an einem Tag etwa abzuhalten und regionale Champions einzufuehren. So koennte es neben dem UFC Heavyweight Champion, auch einen UFC European HW Champion und UFC South American HW Champion geben, als Beispiel. Dana White dazu:“We talked about regional champions. We talked about rankings – just like boxing, guys ranked in other countries. So you end up being ranked. I don't know. You have UFC champions, and then you have guys that are ranked in different countries. It absolutely makes sense. In the big picture, long-term, it absolutely makes perfect sense.”

Wie schon oft gesagt, ich glaube es ist langfristig notwendig mehr Shows abzuhalten, allerdings nur wenn die Qualitaet stimmt. Oft stimmt sie nicht und man sieht zum Teil lausige Fighter bei den UFC Shows. Das muss nicht sein, es gibt genuegend gute Fighter weltweit. Ansonsten macht es wie Dana White sagt Sinn, wenn man regelmaessig Shows irgendwo abhaelt das man auch dann regionale Champions hat. Diese regionale Champions sollten dann auch nur regional antretten. Natuerlich braucht es dazu in einer Region mindestens 6-7 Events im Jahr. Aber warum nicht? 6-7 Shows in Sued/Mittelamerika, 7 European Events, 7 Asia Events, vielleicht 7 Canadian Events. Das heisst man hat in jedem dieser Maerkte in jeder Gewichtsklasse einen regionalen Champion. Das so etwas funktioniert braucht es jedoch nicht 36 UFC Events im Jahr, sondern vielleicht eher an die 70 bis 100 UFC Events im Jahr. Das ist vielleicht noch 10 Jahre in der Zukunft, aber wir werden irgendwann dahin kommen glaube ich das es sehr viel mehr UFC Events gibt, jede Woche ein paar Shows. Nicht jeder UFC Event muss auch ein PPV sein oder ueber TV uebertragen werden, wieso nicht auch UFC Houseshows? Das sind kleine Shows die nur regional auch beworben werden mit regionalen Fightern. Oder auch nur UFC Shows die in bestimmten Laendern im Fernsehen laufen. Ich denke in Zukunft wird es sehr viel mehr UFC Shows geben wie heute.
