Dieses Mal unmittelbar vor dem nächsten Event-Wochenende von CHIKARA. Am heutigen 19.02.2011 findet "Caught in a Cauldron of Hate" in Reading, PA statt. Morgen, am 20.02.2011, folgt dann "Clutch of Doom"aus Easton, PA.

It has recently come to my attention that Director Of Fun pro tempore W. Vavasseur has hatched the brilliant idea to anoint an "official" champion here in CHIKARA. Apparently, the good director is soliciting opinions, votes as it were, from the wrestlers themselves regarding who specifically from the roster is deserving to compete for such a prestigious and long-awaited title. Now, it is my understanding that no wrestler can endorse him or herself in this unique campaign, and with this stipulation, I have no qualms. So it is without hesitation that I take this opportunity to give my personal endorsement to a fellow CHIKARA original - Hallowicked. Now that we have put our differences aside and he has joined me in my battle against Sinn Bodhi and The Batiri, I can confidently say that this man is not only more than qualified to compete for the title, but he is well-deserving of the role based on his many years of experience and success within CHIKARA.

With that said, I feel that I should also take this opportunity to publicly express the voting preference of Hallowicked himself. As most of you know, Hallowicked has little time or use for such modern niceties as "internet blogs." Moreover, facing a language barrier such as he does, it certainly does seem prudent that I provide my services in translation to the masses, as I am one of a very select few who is capable of communicating with the man. So it is with great honor and humility that I reveal Hallowicked's choice in this campaign: the great and devious, UltraMantis Black. Yes, I am both touched and humbled. Furthermore, as Frightmare also faces many challenges in grasping the complexities of the King's English, it is my understanding that he too has thrown his full support behind UMB. No need to pursue this matter any further with these, my two mighty allies. Rest assured, I have provided you with a frank and accurate interpretation of their own words.

So there you have it friends - 1 vote for Hallowicked, 2 votes for UltraMantis. It is my great hope that the other men and women in CHIKARA will take careful consideration of our credentials and, after deep introspection, cast their votes as well in this crucial endeavor.

Good People Of the Chikaraverse,

What up! Since I've been on the shelf with a broken arm, I've had a lot of time to think things over. In this time, I came to the conclusion that I would never take the opportunities I have here at CHIKARA for granted.

I've been trained by some of the best in the world, and month in and month out I've been given the chance to prove myself against the best that pro-wrestling has to offer.

I've come close to getting that big win on the grand stage; along with my partners Fire Ant and Soldier Ant, I made it to the finals of the biggest tournament in professional wrestling - King of Trios. This year, we won't let a crooked referee stand in the way of us achieving the highest accolade there is for a trio in CHIKARA, *but*, there is more on my mind than King of Trios 2011.

I've got gold on my mind. This year, I hope to better myself and prove myself as a worthy singles competitor. And what better way to do that than gunning for the newest, brightest, most prestigious piece of gold around? So here's the deal, here's where the true message of this blog comes out. I NEED VOTES.

Unlike Vin Gerard, I'm not going to beg for votes and offer pathetic favors. I *will* however, be willing to do the following if it will sway some votes in my direction:

- Roll up my sleeves as if to say, "I've got some work to do." - Brush the dirt off my shoulders to show that I'm in touch with the youngsters.

That's about all the completely original campaign material I could come up with, but I think it's good stuff. So there you have it, you can't vote for yourself, and you don't want to vote Vin, so VOTE GREEN!!! (Not Ralph Nader.)

Claudio I gladly accept your challenge. I’ve held the YLC. I’ve toured Japan. I can’t wait to add a KOT victory page to my scrapbook. I'll find the top tier choices and assemble the best BDK trio ever led by the Mat Wrestling Machine. I'll go ahead and start buying the glitter and markers now.

You even have a page in my scrapbook Jigsaw. You see I drew little pictures of all the former YLC winners and have been crossing them out after I destroy their legacy. Guess what? You already have two dashes across your face but I demanded to wrestle you anyway. You think you beat me last month in Philadelphia? You didn't. Four guys beat me, you just happened to get the pin. I'll beat ya anyway possible. You think this is the most illegal thing ever done in pro wrestling?

Don’t think I forgot about you Max Boyer. You're probably one of the only competitors in CHIKARA I vaguely respect. I mean, our careers do parallel one another. After all, we both made our marks in another country, we were in super-powered stables lead by one Claudio Castagnoli, and both were forced to forfeit the Cup. Only difference is I never had to retire, Boyer. I'm too tough for that. I could never do that to all my Donstaroos.

Don't you miss being at home with your wife? Eating that chocolate butter stuff and listening to Barenaked Ladies or whatever you Canucks do? The only thing good to come out of your country is Justin Beiber and Dynamite kid. NOT YOU. Your fuse went out a long time ago.

If you don’t believe I’m the greatest YLC champ of all time you better start. We're not tagging like we had to at the “Golden Dream” match, Boyer. I’ll be sure to bring my scrapbook page for everyone in Reading.

oh.. ja.. den hab ich irgendwie unterschlagen.. :rolli: ..dabei ist der wirklich nice

tjaja.. die ersten Stimmen sind (scheinbar) vergeben.. Green Ant ganz sauber.. Gerard wills finanziell lösen und UMB mit der Mastermind-Variante.. bin gespannt, wen (und auch wie) die BDK da aufstellt, Gerard wird denk ich ma nich sooo die Rolle spielen.. obwohl The UnStable gerade etwas in der Luft hängen und so bissel mitwirbeln um den "offiziellen" Champion müsste da fast schon her. UMB und Kingston, dazu ein BDK Member.. also ein 4-Corner Match könnte das schon werden.. oder ein Gauntlet Match mit max. 6-8 Wrestlern und je mehr Stimmen man hat, umso später kommt man rein oder so..


..und was dieses Wochenende angeht überlege ich gerade auch, ob die Batiri sich nich doch das Gold holen.. erste Überlegung war irgendwo, dass man mit UMB und Co. noch weitermachen könnte.. aber bei Titelgewinn würde man alle zusammenführen.. also Batiri, BDK, QuackenSaw..

Schade, dass die Batiri verloren haben ... obwohl sie noch relativ grün (n pun intended) im Ring sind, find ich sie schon recht überzeugend und es hätte imo auch gut in die größere SL gepasst.

Ansonsten wenig überraschende Ergebnisse würde ich sagen.

ich hatte auch noch überlegt, ob ich nicht noch auf die Batiri setze.. habs dann aber verpennt


Results find ich insgesamt auch nicht sonderlich überraschend..
- Castagnoli gabs keine Zweifel
- 3.0 war ich mir recht sicher, da Gerard & STIGMA derzeit einfach Nebenrollen spielen und in keine SL verwickelt sind
- Icarus war ich mir auch sicher, dieser Iron wird nicht jeden Event gebooked
- Brodie Lee ebenso.. das Finish lässt vielleicht noch was offen und Throwbacks gegen Roughnecks geht in die Overtime
- Portal ist grad einer der aufstrebenden Sternchen im Indy-Wrestling.. die werden weiter siegen (ganz heiße Kandidaten für den Sieg beim King of Trios)
- Frightmare wird den YLC noch eine Weile tragen.. ich glaub sogar, dass er den erst zum nächsten YLC Turnier abgibt
- einziger Schoker dann der Sieg von Boyer in 4 Sekunden.. da war irgendwas mit Hallowicked, wird wohl Donst abgelenkt haben, der dann vom Cradle überrascht in Rekordzeit verloren hat - interessant, da Donst ja das BDK Team für King of Trios aufbauen will
- Kingston ist derzeit ebenfalls auf einem aufstrebenden Ast, der Sieg nicht überraschend.. für mich auch einer, der um den offiziellen Titel mitmischen wird
- und dann halt die Campeonatos de Parejas... 2:1 dacht ich mir, aber wie erwähnt hatte zuletzt doch Zweifel ob man die Batiri mit dem Titelgewinn nicht etwas von UMB wegbringt und danach quasi alle aufeinandertreffen.. also Batiri, UMB, QuackenSaw und BDK

Nuja spielt zumindest in die Donst SL mit hinein, wo er sich als der größte YLC aller Zeiten bezeichnet. Und nu hat er gegen einen ehemaligen Champ, wenn ich mich recht erinnere, verloren.

Ich bin vorallem auch gespannt ob es zu der "Medienunternehmen übernimmt CHIKARA"-Geschichte weitere Entwicklungen geben wird.

Und dass das Portal großer Favorit für das KoT ist, da kann ich auch nur heftigst zustimmen.

Die Übernahme-SL ist definitiv spannend.. seit Bekanntgabe gab es nur wenig bis keine Info dazu und das macht es so spannend.. kann noch in so ziemlich alle Richtungen gehen.

So there's gonna be a vote? A vote to decide who will compete for CHIKARA’s first ever singles title. Well, I ain't gonna beg for no one’s vote. I will simply state facts. Since 2008, I ask you, WHO has been a more successful singles wrestler than Brodie Lee in CHIKARA? I have smashed everything in my sight for the last 3 years. Dasher Hatfield, Daisuke Sekimoto, Hallowicked and Claudio Castagnoli have pinned me in a CHIKARA ring. THAT’S IT. I proved Dasher was a fluke. It took Hallowicked's little sidekick Frightmare to help him out. And I am still waiting for another shot at Sekimoto - my mind wasn’t fully prepared for him. Claudio tried to kill me in a cage, but I walked out of there with my head held high and went on another run, tougher and smarter.

Now 3 years later, I am even smarter, tougher and more dangerous. If the wrestlers of CHIKARA were being honest with themselves, Brodie Lee would obviously be voted in, hands down. I am not much for stats in sports, but I do know that usually the people with the best record in competition compete for championships, I don’t think this case should be any different. I have never been given the proper respect in CHIKARA and I believe the time for that respect is now. This isn’t a trios tournament, where you have 2 other people helping you. This isn’t a tag match, where you have someone watching your back. No, this is a solo gig. One-on-one, no one to help, nowhere to hide. I will state again for the slower minds out there, no one in CHIKARA is more prepared, better equipped or more deserving for a CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES TITLE than the Big Rig. Those are the facts.

Don’t hate me because I tell the truth.

02.03.2011 - Hieracon

Hello CHIKARA fans, Gres...I mean Hieracon here. Let me tell you a little story. It takes place not too long ago, right here in the land of opportunity. A great man stands in the middle of the ring and challenges the entire wrestling world to step it up and fill the void left by him - that man was Bryan Danielson.

On April 15th, 16th and 17th CHIKARA will give Amasis, Ophidian and myself just that opportunity. To step it up and fill that void and put our names in the history books as the 2011 Kings Of Trios! As I joined my Egyptian brothers in training in the ways of verbiage and the funkitude, I learned that they are as passionate about carving out a legacy as I am. We will stop at nothing to accomplish that goal. But in Williamsport, PA on March 12, Kizarny and The Batiri plan on putting a stop to the momentum we've been building toward April.

We all know beating us isn't what Kizarny and his goons REALLY care about - they just want to spread their weird brand of misery until someone stops them. Well on March 12th boys, you are in for a fight. On this day, The Osirian Portal will moonwalk all over Kizarny and The Batiri...well Amasis and Ophidian will, I'll just pop 'em in the brain with my trusty Polish Hammer I keep in my pocket. I'm still working on my moonwalk...OK, dancing period, but we will show them that the The Osirian Portal is a force to be reckoned with.

04.03.2011 - Wink Vavasseur

Hello there, all you CHIKARA-niacs, (I'll assume that's what you refer to yourselves as; it's a portmanteau of the word "maniacs" and "CHIKARA,") it's your new Director of Fun here, Wink Vavasseur!

With all my duties here as the DoF, I've certainly got my hands full. I've quickly found the downside to my great "let the wrestlers vote amongst themselves for a clear-cut championship" experiment: receiving and tabulating voting ballots from a bunch of wrestlers. I'm feeling a bit like Katherine Harris over here, if you know what I mean. Thankfully, I don't have to deal with any hanging chads, am I right? This guy knows what I'm talking about! But seriously, folks, imagine my surprise upon opening the first couple of ballots and finding the atrocious handwriting and spelling of some of these people. I mean, c'mon, what the heck is an "Amasis"?? That's not even a word!

Another thing I've discovered with these ballots is a real lack of trustworthiness. Now, so far, everyone has abided by the rule that "a wrestler cannot vote for him or herself," I've witnessed a few backroom agreements, some "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" deals. Now, that's perfectly legal, but I'll let you fans in on a little secret: I see the results and not everyone is holding up their end of the handshake-sealed bargains. There's a phrase right on the tip of my tongue… ah, right, that's it… "Is there no honor among thieves?" It seems apropos in this situation, methinks. So, just to make sure everything is handled properly, I am going to personally poll every fulltime member of the roster before King of Trios 2011 so I can be sure of what's what.

I like to think that, in my role as the Director of Fun, as well as on executive boards of other thriving companies, not a lot of things slip past me. I like to think of myself as "on the pulse" of what's happening on my watch, finely attuned to the goings-on of CHIKARA. So, I was surprised to find out recently in Easton (birthplace of famed boxer Larry Holmes) that there has apparently been a long-running feud in our fine wrestling family between Eddie Kingston and Claudio Castagnoli. I'm sure many of you are equally as surprised by this as I am, and I apologize for having broken the news to you like this. It's not practical for me to call each of you individually.

Using my authority as the DoF, I've decided that this feud will be settled with a match on March 13th, in Brooklyn, NY (birthplace of lots of other famed boxers, probably.)

Frankly, I'm still a bit astonished that this feud even existed. I mean, this is something I feel I would have noticed, right? If any of you fans want to go buy some CHIKARA DVD's, write down moments when this feud developed, and then report back to me, you can email me at VavasseurW@gmail.com.

07.03.2011 - Scott 'Jagged' Parker

When you think 3.0, a natural association that comes to mind is “street cred.” It almost goes hand in hand with the names Scott Parker and Shane Matthews.

Recently, “Big Magic” and I used our “juice” on the streets and got some very interesting information. You see, we got a “guy” who “may or may not know a certain something about a certain wrestling promotion that, may or may not, be in the process of introducing a certain 'Golden Pants Fastener'.” I know this is a big inside scoop, so Shane and myself felt the need to share this with the CHIKARA fans. But if anyone asks, you didn’t hear this from us.

On that note, I’m gonna go ahead and start a campaign. I want everyone to know that I will cast my vote for someone that you guys probably wouldn’t expect. As of this moment, I nominate...I can’t believe I’m actually gonna do this...I want to nominate...wait for it...wait for it...Mr. Shane Matthews!

I just got off the phone with my ol’ buddy to inform him of my nomination. Seeing as I record all of our phone conversations, here’s a written transcript of how this one went.

J: “YEAH Buddy! I just wanted to give you a heads up...”

S:”I’M READY DADDY!!!!!!”

J: “Ummm. Ok? Ready for what, exactly?”

S: “OHHHH YEAAHHHH I AM REEEEADY!!!!!!”

J: “Riiiiiight. Did you just have a Red Bull?”

S: “HOOOOOOOOOOOO YEAH!!! JUST HAD THE BIG CAN OF RED BULL AND LET ME TELL YA, I AM PUMPED UP! YEEEAAH!!” *click*

J: “Hello?”

I know, sometimes, Shane gets really excited and it’s hard to understand exactly what he means. Especially after he’s gotten a Red Bull in his system. It’s almost like the highly intelligent Bruce Banner turning into the slightly less eloquent Hulk. But I digress. After nearly 20 years of friendship I’ve broken down the subtleties of his boisterousness into something most people can actually understand. So here’s a brief translation of the conversation above.

Shane: “Oh wow. Really? You really voted for me? I can’t believe it. If I were to sum up my emotions I would have to say that I am both deeply touched by your gesture and yet mildly thunderstruck. Thank you. I will not let you down. I am both excited and prepared for this oppertunity. I would also like to return the favor and place a nomination for you, my dearest friend.”

So there you have to folks! Get out your number 2 pencils. Head on over to the booths and get your vote on. It may also be a good idea to vote “other” spot and put in one of those fun little Hollywood couple names like “Sh-agged” or “Par-Thews”. Both of those are terrible examples but the idea behind it is money. CHIKARMY, let’s get together and do this as one. Or as 3....Point 0.

09.03.2011 - Tim Donst

Four seconds! Four seconds is all it took for my hot streak of pummeling former Young Lions Cup champions to come to an end. Fire Ant, STIGMA, Equinox, Jigsaw, Hallowicked, Arik Cannon, all destroyed but not you, Max Boyer! Was it 'cause you were better than me? Cause you locked on some cool Canadian submission hold? No. You beat me 'cause that pumpkinhead ambushed me in the back, interrupting another classic Donst interview segment.

It should have been a great moment for me. Standing over you, saying things like “Told ya BDK was better than the Kings of Wrestling,” “Your total title defenses don’t mean anything anymore” or “How about them Bangles?” But instead all I got was a loss, the pages of my scrapbook ripped and stolen by you hyenas to probably sell on eBay and a “5 Star match” chant. Are you freakin’ kidding me? I haven’t had a match less than 8 stars my entire career!

But smashing your face isn’t the only thing I’m looking forward to in our trios match at “Operation Big Freeze,” Hallowicked. Oh no! I also get to beat up your little pal Frightmare. Hey green guy, I know you don’t speak English good like the rest of us but try to understand this, I DONT CARE THAT YOU'VE TIED BOYER’S YLC DEFENSE RECORD, YOU'RE GOING TO CHOKE............AGAIN! haha lolz no, jk.

And than there’s you Quack. Don’t you talk to your buddy Jigsaw on a regular bases? Texting, Skyping, anything? Perhaps he would have told you how I gave him the ole’ STO. How I nearly broke his back with my Gator Roll. How his half of the tag team titles looked great in my hand. Maybe since he needs the night off in Williamsport to make sure he's 100% for Brooklyn the next day, he'll have time to fill you in on all his aches and pains. Poor guy.

I already held and proved that I’m the greatest YLC champion there ever was. I already pinned one half of the Campeones de Parejas in just a few minutes. I think it’s time for those belts to come back to the BDK, around my waist. I respect the fact that the very wise Claudio Castagnoli will not participate in this year's King of Trios tournament, but in Williamsport, I'll get to see what kind of partner Sara Del Rey will make. Maybe there will be a spot for her on my King of Trios championship team.

When you have a big mouth and you have a few Red Bulls, sometimes it can get you in a messy situation or two. It’ll come as no surprise when I admit that 3.0 have been guilty of talking too much...on one or two occasions. We made a career off of our big mouths. (That and my awesome high flying abilities!)

Ya see UnStable, we made a mistake. I have no trouble admitting that. We’ve never had any issues with you guys in the past, in fact the mere mention of your names would cause indifference to run wild throughout my body. Sometimes when you aren’t the most talented wrestlers in the world you gotta do something extra, a little somethin' to find an edge. That’s exactly what we did when we locked horns last month in Reading, PA. “Da Jag Man” and myself decided to have some fun, lighten the mood a little, and try to gain a competitive edge. (Maybe even put a smile on your miserable faces) It worked! We won. Thing is, we’re greedy for fun daddy!!! We wanted to have a little more fun at your expense - that’s just the kind of guys we are. We like to laugh at people. So, the next afternoon in Easton we ruined your match to amuse ourselves.

Fast forward 20 minutes and we were on top of the world, smiling because we had just gained our third point! But it was short-lived. Right as we were ready to board the Canadian Freight Train to the Promised Land (or something like that,) you two took it upon yourselves to ensure the train never left the station by costing us the match (thus erasing our points.) That doesn’t sit well with me and the boys...I mean Da Jag Man. That’s when things got real, that’s when things got real flippin' real!

I’m not a dumb guy and I realise that Scotty “Da Jag Man” Parker and myself started this whole thing by putting our foot in our mouths and for that, I am sorry. Vin, STIGMA, come Williamsport on March 12th, 3.0 has a little gift for The UnStable to show you just how sorry we are. Truce? ;)

Wow.

Word on the street is a singles title is comin' to CHIKARA and all of a sudden, everybody is a politician. Since when did votes mean more than points? That's all I'm hearing these days. Everybody is obsessed with votes, to the point where even Vin Gerard is trying to be a social butterfly now.

"Butterfly" may be too kind...even they clean themselves.

I digress, the locker room is now an election house and I can't say I'm pleased by this. I didn't pick the system.

-Inserts part where you ask, "Well, how would you have done it?"-

Elementary my dear broham. I'm an athlete. A scrapper. An earner. Save the popularity contests for beauty pagents and weak reality shows. Playoff champion or 1st Curse victim, let me EARN my place. I see a locker room of men I respect and men I despise, but they're chance for singles immortality shouldn't be based on lip service and a majority vote. Let Kingston backfist his way to glory. Or Green Ant use his heart and sheer will to best anyone in front of him. I'd even accept Brodie Lee using "excesivo de castigo" levels of stank to get to the title...

..at least then it'd be based on may the best man win. Skill.

The Bulls won NBA titles by stuffing the hoop, not a ballot box. But again, this ain't my steez. The order has come down and this is how it's gonna be.

Now, you're probably expecting me to give you my case. Somehow flip this into a Sugar D vote.

"BELIEVE IN SUGAR D!"

"SLAM DUNK YOUR VOTE!"

Inventive right? I got a slogan for you. It's actually a mash of the two I just said.

"Believe In Your Vote."

It's not catchy. That doesn't make it any less effective. When you make your vote, vote for who you believe could beat you at any given time. Vote for the person that makes you sweat when you see their name across from theirs. Not everyone will do this. But keep in mind, the opportunity at this title if for an elite few. IF you get your chance; do you want your peers and the CHIKARMY at large to question if you were worthy? Will you be able to say you beat men OR women where the very thought of the outcome left you nervous? This is OUR championship. The big one. Whoever takes this thing is going to represent our company in a way the Young Lions Cup can't. The SAME way our Campeonatos de Parejas are considered THE tag titles to win...this belt should mean the same thing. Whoever wins it is carrying CHIKARA on their back.

History lesson. My last singles match was against "The Big Rig," Brodie Lee. He definitely won.

But definitely NOT by a 3 count. Definitely NOT without a fight. Definitely NOT without a desperation in his eyes I've never seen before. We had a magic moment mere seconds before your boot 86'ed my face, big man. It was a look in your eyes that screamed out.

"I CAN'T GET IT DONE."

So you took the easy way out. 20 count on the floor. After EVERYTHING you hit me with, you took the most indecisive way out. So when I see you writing blogs (A surprise to me might I add. HE CAN WRITE EVERYBODY! Clap for him!) talking about how unstoppable you've been; did you take a pause long enough to try to believe your lie? Did it occur to you that your "easy night" was one of the craziest brawls you've ever had? Could you have got the job done if there was no count-outs?

I guess that's in doubt. We'll have our time later, but to my point...

There's a lot of guys in that locker room that need to wake up and wipe the crust out of their eyes. They're sleeping on Slam McNasty in a huge way. I don't expect to be anybody's 1st draft pick and a longshot when compared to the laundry list of talent that exists in the CHIKARA locker room. But if I can put the fear into Brodie Lee, you best believe I'll make you second guess your opinion if you meet me in the paint.

Don't believe me? All those questions and more get answered at the price of one vote.
