Conan verlässt nach 17 Jahren NBC und kriegt 45 Millionen Dollar Abfindung. Aus eigener Tasche zahlt Conan die Abfindung für seinen Staff (der ja somit auch arbeitslos ist). Und wer weiß, vllt wirds ja wirklich was mit FOX!

Es heißt, NBC zahlt seinen Leuten eine überdurchschnittliche Abfindung, die Conan dann noch einmal selbst aus eigener Tasche aufstockt, aber ganz wird ers nicht übernehmen.

the Peacock officially announced today that it has reached an agreement with Conan O’Brien, who has agreed to abdicate his role as the host of The Tonight Show by Jan. 22 in exchange for a large cash payout that sources place at more than $40 million — some of which will go toward severance for his staff — and the promise not to seek employment elsewhere until after Sept. 1.

O'Brien will receive $33 million, with another $12 million to be divided among his 200-plus employees as severance, under terms of the deal announced on NBC's Today. O'Brien's last show will be Friday, and Leno will return to Tonight, the show he hosted for 17 years, on March 1.
