"Flair's WWF tenure featured a long-awaited feud with Hulk Hogan, beginning on October 22, 1991, in Dayton. Ric outlasted the Royal Rumble field......."
Ich lese gerade bei Was war früher, dass am 23. Oktober 1923 Ex-World Champion Dick Shikat und Hans Steinke, zwei deutsche Top-Wrestler der 20er/30er Jahre, erstmals in die USA kamen.

"Richard Schikat (Dick Shikat) was during the war a bluejacket and afterwards also with the navy on a minesweeper. After he had watched wrestling in his youth at Tilsit, he saw wrestlers once more in the porttown. Schikat became now interested to enter the professional wrestling field and got into touch with that promoter, Harry van der Heyden. The latter engaged the strong lad and that was the start of a glorious and adventurous life. The East Prussian needed only a short time to win the recognition of his exponents. In his first years he was often to find in tournaments with champion wrestlers Hans Schwarz Sen. and Paul Westergaard-Schmidt, as also with another newcomer, the strong Hans Steinke from Stettin. Often he competed in the tourneys of wrestler-promoter Ernst Erlenkamp.
There were soon no tournaments where Schikat and Steinke were not to find amongst the first prize-winners in the final standings. Both felt themselves strong enough to try their luck in the New World, in USA. Another reason for this decision was the extreme bad economic situation in Germany. It had been manager Alberti, who took the iniative to invite Schikat to go to the States. October 23, 1923, was his departure to the States, accompanied by Hans Steinke. Schikat settled at San Francisco while Chicago became the new domicile of Hans Steinke......."
