Ein sehr differenziertes Statement von Alex Shelley:
Zitat: Now, most people have been asking me about the whole RF situation. I'll clear the air now so people can quit asking.
What Rob did was wrong. There's absolutely no way to justify it. There's no excuses. He got caught making a huge mistake.
I've read what lots of people have said about the situation. Everyone has different views, as they should. However, I can't speak as a father like Dan Maff, or as a guy who makes his living in Japan like Low Ki, or as his former best friend like Eric G. I can simply speak as a 20 year old kid who's worked really hard in the past year to earn a spot on the regular roster for ROH. I finally did that in January. I owe it to myself to stick with the company, especially because Gabe has done everything in his power to right what was wrong. He's assured me Rob has no ownership or power at this point and won't be allowed to attend the shows. He's trying to do what he can to remedy the situation.
As far as Rob goes personally, he's been nothing but straightforward and businesslike with me. I do owe some of my success to Rob. Afterall, without RF, there'd have been no ROH originally, and ROH has definitely helped me get my name out there. That's not to say I don't owe tons to Gabe and Punk, both of whom were pivotal in getting me booked in ROH. Still, I really hope that Rob can get help and correct his problem for his own sake.
What Rob did did definitely hurt ROH, but everyone makes mistakes. Granted, this was a big one. At this point though, what's done is done. There's nothing left to do but deal with the damage that's been dealt, and bounce back as best as we can. It's not like anyone in ROH needed motivation to work harder, but I'm sure everyone will to get people to pay attention to the tremendous talent showed in the ring instead of the actions of one man who's not even associated with the company anymore.
I know some people are choosing not to buy ROH tapes or anything from RF video. I completely understand and respect their wishes, but I don't think it's fair to those workers that have entertained you in the past that you quit watching them because of something that is no fault of their own. While I sympathize with what you may think, I truly believe that if you quit watching ROH, you'll only be cheating yourself. ~AS
