CHIKARA Season 9 Thread
und wieder mal CHIKARA Blog- und Podcast-Update:

18.11.2010 - Arik Cannon

Zitat:"The Anarchist" Arik Cannon returns to CHIKARA this weekend...OH YEAH!

As the weekend quickly approaches, I grow more and more excited. Anxious even. Why? Because it's been quite some time since I've stepped foot into a CHIKARA ring. But more so because I have a few things on my mind. Knowledge. Winning. Revenge.

Knowledge: Chikara Wrestle Factory has been raising the bar when it comes to professional wrestling training since 2002. With each new class, comes a long list of new holds and counters. I've been trying to soak up as much of this as humanly possible since 2003! I've never left a CHIKARA ring without having learned something new. This weekend shall be no different. I am looking forward to learning something new, something different, maybe even something "special." I want to learn, because I want to be better. I want to have that edge. I want - no, I need to win!

Winning: Am I a good sport? I try to be. Am I a gracious loser? No, absolutely not! Losing always leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. No matter how you get there, the route from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is a long one. As if the taste of losing wasn't bitter enough, to make that trek and lose only makes it worse. I don't want to win. I need to win. I will win! On Saturday night in Easton, 8 former Young Lions Cup champions will meet...the Golden Dream Match. Something I'm certainly no stranger to. It was just over a year ago that myself, Hallowicked, and Fire Ant had our hands raised in victory after a Golden Dream Match. Sure, the match is a little different this time around. Some of the participants have changed. We've even got ourselves an additional teammate in Jigsaw. For every detail of this match that has changed, there is one that will remain the same, and that is at the end of the night I will again have my hand raised in victory. Golden Dream Match, it's kind of funny if you think about it...because for our opponents, it's going to be a nightmare! Especially you, Max Boyer!

[Bild: http://www.chikarapro.com/images/GoldenWin.jpg]

Revenge: I remember it like it was yesterday. Sunday, June 25th 2006 was a very special night for me. It was on this night, that I became Young Lions Cup champion! I had broken away from the Kings Of Wrestling, and onto my own. On my own, literally. None of the rudos trusted me. Due to my prior affiliation with the Kings Of Wrestling, the tecnicos didn't even want to talk to me, let alone attempt to trust me! Really; in hindsight, I don't blame them. Any of them. They had no reason to. I went into the YLC tournament friendless, and constantly looking over my shoulder. You might even say I was paranoid. I certainly wasn't in the right frame of mind to be successful in a match, not to mention an entire tournament! Sometimes it's funny how things work out. I thought I was alone, without a friend in the world. Little did I know, that on that night I'd have hundreds friends cheering me on. Those friends of mine, you now know them as the CHIKARMY. My confidence grew, I felt good. I knew it was going to be a good night, and boy was it ever!

I didn't need a group of jerks like the Kings Of Wrestling at my side to win. I didn't need a partner to tag out to. I knew it, and it was time to prove it, and that is exactly what I did. I was determined to defend the YLC at every opportunity presented to me. At that time, nobody had defended their reign as YLC champion as often or as successful as I had. Then, Max Boyer ruined everything. Max Boyer took my entire world, and crushed it under his no good lousy Canadian foot! On October 28th of that same year I lost the YLC to Max Boyer. The match ended, and I couldn't believe it. I was in shock. Shock turned to rage, and then that rage became regret. As senior official Bryce Remsburg handed Boyer MY Young Lions Cup trophy, I lost it.

I shoved Bryce to the ground. Putting my hands on an official was bad enough, but what made it worse is that Bryce was, and is to this day, a real friend. But that wasn't even the half of it! My actions resulted in an indefinite suspension. I had asked numerous times for the opportunity to redeem myself, for a shot at Max Boyer and MY Young Lions Cup. I served my suspension, and it looked as if though I was going to get my chance, a rematch with Boyer. But we all know that never happened. Because Max Boyer, the "lost" Young Lions Cup champion, decided to pack up and go home. Retire. Quit. Without reason! Just cause! I never got my chance to remove that black mark, so to speak, from my CHIKARA record.

The apologies have been accepted, the fences have been mended, and all is well between myself and CHIKARA. However, for you Max Boyer, it's a totally different story. This Saturday night, in Easton, Pennsylvania you're mine. The guys on my team know the story, and they know what this means to me. Finally, 4 years later, I'm getting my opportunity to right that wrong and prove to not only you, but to myself, who the better man is! Lace'em up nice and tight Boyer, this will not be a wasted opportunity. That, I assure you.

That's all folks,
AC

19.11.2010 - Icarus

Zitat:"OMG," cried the simpletons on the internet, "we totally get to see Mister ZERO and Jolly Roger get revenge on Icarus in Easton!" WRONG-O. Buck-O's.

Fact Uno: I, Sir Icarus, (yeah I was knighted so what,) in 2005 did in fact perform a Tornado Pedigree, on Mister ZERO, to the floor of the Reading Coliseum, thus ending his career.

Fact Dos: I did choke the beejebus out of Jolly Roger cutting off O2 (yeah that's oxygen for all you non-chemistry smarties out there,) to his brain, thus damaging his occipital lobe, ruining his eye site and ending his career. Everyone's quick to point out the villain under these circumstances. "Oh that Icarus, always ending careers."

What about ME? What about my revenge? It seems that all the snarky CHIKARA fans will quickly point out a few evil doings on my part, but who remembers the real story? Well, since most of you are too lazy to actually do some homework, let me school you in some CHIKARA History 101.

July 22, 2006. It was a waning crescent moon, two great and fearless warriors commenced in a battle so intense, it caused a butterfly to flap its wings in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, the courageous and noble Icarus fell, defeated by the revolting (and daft) Jigsaw. Icarus, in his pure genius, realized quickly that a hasty exit was the only way to save his luxurious lemon locks. Just as freedom was within his grasp, who should appear but a breakdancing buccaneer, jealous of the golden mane on our hero's head. With ninja-like reflexes, Icarus quickly sprang into action, fleeing from the pirate, and headed for the only other way out. An exit he found to be blocked by a middle-aged business tyrant. Sadly outnumbered, Icarus succumbed to his foes and the curls of couragessness were snipped from his head.

[Bild: http://www.chikarapro.com/images/JRoCutsHair.jpg]

Now ask yourself this, all you cynical internet fans, who's getting revenge on who? I'll tell you who - Icarus, that's who. I can't wait to get my hands on you, ZERO, and you, Jolly Roger. I can't wait to get in the ring with my team and tear you limb from limb. Your decision to interfere in my noble escape was your first mistake. Your decision to step back in the ring was your second mistake. Your decision to face off against me (and my elite team) was your third and final mistake. So Saturday in Easton, tie your boots one last time. Soak in the applause from the monosyllabic, chanting buffoons. Enjoy the moment while you can, because once you step foot through those ropes you’re going to find out that I like to serve my dish of revenge with a punch to the throat.

so denn.. zum Season-Finale an diesem Wochenende hier das Round-Up der letzten CHIKARA-Blogs:

24.11.2010 - Dieter von Steigerwalt

Zitat:Let me pose a question to you, CHIKARMY. What kind of referee allows a child to become a legal participant in a wrestling match and score a pinfall? What kind of referee splits his duties between supposedly officiating matches in an impartial way, and making very partial remarks from Commentation Station minutes later? What kind of referee makes a spectacle of himself by becoming physically involved in a match he is supposed to be overseeing?

[Bild: http://www.chikarapro.com/images/BryceFlies.jpg]

The answer is obvious - the only kind of referee that would do this is a referee who does not take his responsibilites very seriously. A referee not unlike Herr Remsburg.

Our Board of Directors, in response to alleged complaints (I have seen or heard none) about the way in which another of our referees conducts himself, hired a third-party auditor to assess job performance. Why is this same protocol not being followed as it relates to Herr Remsburg? His actions this past weekend are more than reprehensible. In fact, when the Board convenes in December, I think that will be a most appropriate time to nominate someone else for the position of "senior official."

02.12.2010 - Tim Donst

Zitat:I shouldn’t be writing this, Jimmy, but what the heck...winter is coming up and I could use a little heat. Do you really think you can beat me, kiddo? Seriously, look at ya. Look at me! The Mat Wrestling Machine has been on a roll this entire season. What have you accomplished? Figured out how to finally unlace that dumb mask of yours? Lose "The Perfect 10" of The Future is Now to the BDK? Sounds like a great year...NOT. Let me tell you all what I did.

Won the YLC. Beat up Bryan Danielson. Defended the YLC against Uno. Main evented King of Trios: Night 2. Defended the YLC against Dasher Hatfield. Did a tour with Osaka Pro Wrestling in Japan. Cut the best interview segments this company has ever seen or heard. Defended the YLC against Soldier Ant. Main evented in another country. Wrote Hydra a nasty email. Defended the YLC against Frightmare (total: 4 awesome defenses!)

[Bild: http://www.chikarapro.com/images/PeopleLoveMe.jpg]

You see Jimmy, I already finished off the remains of STIGMA and Jigsaw at The Dark Ciberknetico. Flattened Arik Cannon and Fire Ant at "Scornucopia." If Hallowicked, the first ever YLC champion can’t beat me Jimmy, how can you? You can’t. You're trying to skate uphill. Think of the consequences Jimmy. Do you really want Colin to have to go back to being a solo act? Face me on December 12th, and I’ll cut your reunion short.

You're going to find out why I'm the greatest YLC champ of all time.

Im Namen der Bruderschaft,

04.12.2010 - Dasher Hatfield

Zitat:Allo Rooters,

For starters I would like to wish you all an enjoyable holiday season. I for one am hoping that my Christmas celebrations are a little more heart-warming than the miserable Thanksgiving I recently endured. Please don’t get me wrong - all of the usual happenings were happening. The Mrs. cooked up a delicious meal, the family was all together, in fact even my third cousin Jasper was in from Florida. However, I still seemed to have a huge weight on my shoulders that I just couldn’t seem to knock off.

It wasn’t the sore nose that I was dealing with (ever since I ran snout first into Buck Hawke’s deadly double axe handle,) It wasn’t the taste of Brodie’s big boot that I still had lingering on my tongue, nor was it the clicking sound my jaw now makes whenever I tried to eat anything other than mashed potatoes. The weight on my shoulders was being applied by one plaid-wearing, ax-swinging, stepstool-using lumberjack.

Grizzly Redwood, two months ago you and I went into battle and we both left that battle battered and bruised. You happened to be the better man on that particular day and I respected that and shook your hand with honor. I believed we left the squared circle that day with a new found mutual respect for one another. As it turned out, the joke was on good ol’ Dasher.

[Bild: http://www.chikarapro.com/images/DaThrowbacks.jpg]

Then, just a month later, after I had returned from a very successful trip to Osaka, Japan, and fresh off of a victory over one Buck Hawke, you came out to the ring for what I assumed would be a low five and a “Good Job, Mate.” Before you really got the chance to say much, we were interrupted by the “Big Rig” Brodie Lee. Considering both of our recent pasts with Mr. Lee, I found it only natural for you and I to stand side-by-side in such a situation. I must say the courage you showed when you jumped up and smacked that gigantic, smelly man directly in his face made me jump for joy. But when I turned to celebrate with you for standing up to the Big Rig I was met, quite rudely I might add, by a jaw-shattering boot.

As I lay on the canvas in pain staring up at the lights of the Easton Funplex, I waited for the hand of a respected friend to help me up. I waited for an ally who knew exactly what it felt like to receive that particular boot, and be left lying in that particular ring, to help me back to my feet. Instead, I woke up to the sight of two cowards walking to the locker room with yellow stripes running down their backsides.

What was killing me was that I could not wrap my mind around why you would ever make such a choice...? The last few times you have been in the ring with Brodie he has kicked your beard clear across the arena (how that beard grows back so quickly is beyond me.) I know the saying goes “it is always warmer under the wing of the dragon” but boy-o, that dragon has already eaten, digested and squeezed you back out multiple times. For you to turn your back on a true friend like myself, only to align yourself once again with the man who has proven he has little to no respect for you...is quite...foolish.

Luckily for me I soon realized that it really doesn’t matter what on God’s green Earth you were thinking. All that matters now is that you did what you did. The deed has already been done, the crime has already been committed, and now it is time for you and your big buddy to pay the piper. With my true friend, Sugar Dunkerton, at my side we will make sure that this debt is paid in full. Sugar and I are a tight-knit ball club. If you throw a high hard one in on one of The Throwbacks, you had better believe the retaliation is coming from the whole squad.

Tip off is at four o’clock sharp! Don’t be late fellas,
DH

06.12.2010 - Grizzly Redwood

Zitat:There's nothing better than a fresh cut piece of timber.

All I've ever done is try to prove...try to prove that I can hang with anyone...anywhere...in anything. I proved that to Brodie. A Big Rig. The toughest man in CHIKARA. I opened his eyes when I beat Dasher in Hamden, and now, at last, he sees me as his equal. I'm not a joke. I'm not a weak link. I chop the competition down. I topple timbers.

[Bild: http://www.chikarapro.com/images/IToppleTimbers.jpg]

You found out for yourself, Dasher. I am not to be messed with. Make your little short jokes all day, laugh it up. The Roughnecks left you laying in Easton last month. Sugar Dunkerton wants to talk tougher than a pine in November!!! Talk is cheap. We left Dasher and his bat-boy fouled out in Philly, where The Roughnecks rule.

Something new has sprouted. Meaner, nastier and faaaaar more dangerous than ever before. You can tell by the look in my eyes - or the grin on Brodie's face. December 12 in Reading, PA...we leave The Throwbacks splintered into tiny pieces.

07.12.2010 - UltraMantis Black

Zitat:Last month in Philadelphia I stormed the ECW Arena with only one goal in mind - to destroy Ares. It was to be the final stage of my own personal mission of revenge against the BDK for the terror they had wrought on myself and CHIKARA. I had absolutely no doubt in my mind that I would emerge from that match with my hand held high in victory, watching as Ares' broken body was stretchered out of the building to an awaiting ambulance.

But what I didn't count on was that I would be betrayed...again. I never once suspected that the soldiers in my dark army - my insurance policy of sorts - would turn their backs and walk away when I needed them most. How could this happen? And WHO was responsible? I caught only a glimpse of the cloaked figure who led them away, but his identity is hardly a mystery to me. It can be one of only two individuals - and the more I ponder the situation, the more confident I become of exactly who he is.

[Bild: http://www.chikarapro.com/images/PathofDestruction.jpg]

And so it appears that once again I am all alone here in CHIKARA. But this hasn't stopped me before, and it certainly will not stop me now. It's to set things right, once and for all. And it's time for answers. I want an explanation for the events that transpired in Philadelphia. A deal is a deal.

So on December 12th, I will march a solitary path into Reading, Pennsylvania and destroy everything in my path until I get answers! And it all starts with you, HALLOWICKED.

08.12.2010 - Dieter von Steigerwalt

Zitat:I think I've seen enough of this already.

The very notion that a CHIKARA video of such nature and tone has become popular is no surprise to me. However, in the interest of fairness, shouldn't members of the esteemed Bruderschaft des Kreuzes be accorded equal opportunity? I will ensure this is rectified swiftly.

Between the meddling of underlings like Wink Vavasseur and videos such as this "Throwdown Lowdown," I think it's high time people are forced to come to terms with where the power in this company truly lies.

Furthermore, upon careful review of our referee staff, I think it will be neccesary to submit a change of the hierarchy to the Board, in favor of a new senior official that can respect the tenets of his job without resorting to glory-hounding at every turn.

Im Namen der Bruderschaft,
DVS

09.12.2010 - Sara Del Rey

Zitat:High highs and low lows.

When Daizee and I first joined the BDK it was out of necessity, we needed to feed our competitive hunger, and along the way, we picked up three points. While that was not part of the plan, I am not surprised because not only are Daziee and I the best female talent out ther...we are the best tag talent around as well.

[Bild: http://www.chikarapro.com/images/DaizeeFlies.jpg]

Losing the points, having all our hard work wiped away is not a easy thing to handle. Are we frustrated? Yes. Angry? Oh yeah. Do I feel bad for what we are going to do to The Colony Sunday in Reading? Not at all! I am actually looking forward to getting us back on the right track. I hope they come with their A-Game because they are just the first of teams WE WILL take out! And now, we have something to prove, not just to ourselves.

10.12.2010 - Mike Quackenbush

Zitat:A few weeks ago, I got to see some old friends and familiar faces in Easton. And for the first time in many, many years, an unusual quintet was back together - the first five graduates of Chikara Wrestle Factory were under one roof. While some of those guys, like Hallowicked, I might see every week, there are others - like Mister ZERO, for example - who I hadn't seen in years.

This reunion of sorts reminded me of simpler times. When CHIKARA was much smaller, and was held together simply by a desire to succeed, and not a whole lot else. It reminded me of St. John's Auditorium in Allentown, and the halcyon days of our formative years. It reminded me of how far we've come since 2002. It reminded me of how much time was invested, and how many miles we traveled, and how many careers we've launched (and those we've seen end, as well.) It reminded me of everything we've sacrificed for, fought for, worked for all these years...in the days before anyone ever heard of the Bruderschaft des Kreuzes.

On this auspicious occasion, I had hoped to maybe kick back and tell some old stories - after all, I wasn't even wrestling that night. I'd just get to sit around and enjoy the company of those I haven't had the chance to see of late. Especially as it seemed clear that this might be the last time I'd see my first class of trainees all together, I couldn't help but feel a tad...nostalgic. But the "good ol' days" never really came up.

[Bild: http://www.chikarapro.com/images/TheFirstClass.jpg]

Instead, I was asked why we had allowed the BDK to run roughshod over us all season long. It was said that something like this would have never happened back in 2003. We wouldn't have stood for it, I was told. Well things have changed. The stakes, like our little wrestling organization, are much larger than they were in the Linden Street days. No independent wrestling organization has the industry-wide influence that we do. Every corner of the wrestling world sits up and watches what we do today. That wasn't true 7 or 8 years ago. Now, CHIKARA is synonymous with innovation and style. That's where stars are made. That's where preconceived notions about what can and cannot happen in pro-wrestling are thrown out and the rules get rewritten. And the men that wear our championship title belts - those men can be called the finest tag team walking the Earth. They should represent us - CHIKARA. Who we are, what we are in 2010.

Well Ares, Claudio...I hate to break it to you, but you are not the finest tag team at CHIKARA. Just a few weekends ago, Jigsaw and I did what no other team has ever done - we accumulated all three points toward a title shot in one match. And as you are going to find out, we are way past "tired" of seeing those belts around your waists. This weekend - I have a date with destiny. To be fair...I have two dates.

Tomorrow afternoon, I am scheduled to stand across the ring from Jushin "Thunder" Liger. He's the reason I wanted to pursue professional wrestling. The ring name "Lightning" was taken in tribute to him. I can't express how surreal the idea of wrestling Liger is to me. And to be doing it now...of all times. I've got a cracked rib. A messed up elbow. This is how I'll meet my wrestling idol?

What choice do I have though? An opportunity like this comes around just once in a lifetime - or it doesn't come around at all. When I think back to those times that I have stood in the ring, heard a familiar song, and looked back at the entranceway to see someone of incredible stature and legacy walk the aisle toward me - Johnny Saint, CIMA, Eddie Guerrero, Tiger Mask IV, El Hijo del Santo, Manami Toyota - it's like flashing back to a dream. And now, after all these years...Liger.

I can only imagine how I'm going to feel when I roll out of bed tomorrow. Or the condition I'll be in after going toe-to-toe with Jushin Liger in Philly. But if you think for a second, BDKers, that's going to make me easy prey come Sunday, or that I'm somehow going to be less than "on my game" in Reading, you don't know who I am. I'm the Master of a Thousand Holds. I've won the Ted Petty Invitational, Best of the Best, and the inaugural King of Trios. I've held 33 championships over the last 16 years. I'm never the biggest dog in the fight...but ya know what? That's never stopped me.

When I get to Reading on Sunday, I might be hurting, but that's not the only thing I'll be. You may be crafty, Ares, but I'll be faster than you could ever be. And you might be powerful Claudio, but I'll out-think you in that ring at every turn. And I've got a promise I'll make you, Jushin Liger. I'll make this promise to every fan that comes to support me this weekend, and to you, Jigsaw - the best tag team partner I've ever had: I will give you my all this weekend. No matter what life throws at me, no matter how the deck is stacked against me, no matter what the odds...

I will give you my all.

14.12.2010 - UltraMantis Black

Zitat:So "Kizarny," it was you. You cost me my match against Ares in Philadelphia, you turned The Batiri against me, and you ordered that assault in Reading this past weekend. For all of this, there will be a reckoning.

Many moons ago, I was warned that "A War is Coming." And the self-dubbed "God of War" Ares came to CHIKARA Pro, unleashed his Bruderschaft and things have truly never been the same. I knew to wage war that I would need an army. While seeking solace among the medieval ruins along the shore of Bled Island, I encountered three strange, unearthly beings. I had no doubt that they could be an asset to my Order...but perhaps of greater use in the war.

First, they needed to be trained. Trained in both the black arts...and the art of combat. Transformed into a dark army that would fight, that would punish, that would destroy on command. And for this dark army to be created without Ares' knowledge, they had to be trained away from the Wrestle Factory. There, it would have been too easy for Claudio Castagnoli to uncover their presence.

In my moment of need, I turned to a man who I had encountered in the underworld of mysticism and the macabre. Someone who, like me, understands the strange ways in which the world of wrestling can warp a man's mind. I knew he could train them. I knew he could control these dark souls and forge them into the army I would need. At the time, this man called himself "Kizarny."

I made a deal with you, Sinn Bodhi, "Kizarny," or whatever you are called this week: Train my dark army for war, and you will be rewarded.

[Bild: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5002/5256...36e391.jpg]

When I saw Obariyon in action at the Young Lions Cup, I knew you had trained The Batiri well. But I did not know you were training these lost souls to obey you - instead of me. I found that out in Philadelphia, and my moment of glory was stolen from me. My battle with Ares ended in defeat.

You are no fool, Bodhi. Nor is the great and devious UltraMantis Black! Where was my dark army when I needed them most? Summoned away by you. For this, you expect to be compensated? Even if I still had the Eye of Tyr in my possession, I would not turn it over to the likes of you.

And evidently you've never been one to study history, Kizarny, because if you did then you would already know that UltraMantis Black has powers far greater than any mere human mortal - and that includes you. I have already had to learn the hard way that one will always inevitably reap what one sows. It seems that this a harsh lesson that you are now fated to learn as well.
