Bei Bellator 112 wird Daniel Straus seinen BFC Featherweight Title gegen Pat Curran verteidigen, den Fighter gegen den er den Title bei Bellator 106 zuletzt gewann.
Der eigentliche #1 Contender auf den FW Title bei Bellator, ihr wisst der letzte Tournament Champion fuehlt sich von Bellator beschissen:“That whole ‘where the title shots are earned, not given’ is pure bulls--t now. That doesn’t exist anymore. Bellator is eating its own words. They didn’t respect my wins in the tournament. I had a close fight against Curran last January. His win wasn’t clear, it was a close split decision, and I didn’t have another shot at the title. They made me go back to the tournament, and I would only fight for the title again if I won the tournament. I went back to the tournament and beat up everybody. I respect everybody, but I beat them all convincingly. But when I earned my shot at the title, they give Curran another one. They must be kiddin

Daniel Straus, der Champion fuehlt sich ebenfalls von Bellator betrogen: “My perception is that Bellator wants him as champ so bad not only does he get immediate rematch but gets it in his hometown damn near. It’s like, what, you don’t believe in me being a champ?”
Meine 2 Cents dazu: Ich gebe den beiden Recht. In den letzten Monaten hat Bellator ihre Politik geaendert und man hat Titleshots vergeben die kein Sinn machen. Zuerst der Skandal um Attila Veigh der nicht verletzt war damit Lawal vs Newton II zum Titlefight wurde, Alvarez bekam ein Refight, Chandler bekommt einen sofortigen Refight. Bei Alvarez und Chandler kann man es noch verstehen, aber dann muss man auch klar die Politik aendern und das sagen und nicht von “Jeder Titleshot ist bei Bellator verdient“ Bullshit reden. Und bei Straus vs Curran sehe ich keinen Grund fuer einen sofortigen dritten Fight. Es gibt ein Challenger in Freire der schon Mal gegen den Champion gewonnen hat, und der ein Bellator Tournament gewann, und Curran hat klar gegen Straus verloren. Aber ich denke es ist so wie Straus sagt, Bellator will Curran wieder als Champion haben.
