Der ehemalige UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum wurde bei einem out of competition test am 25 April positiv getestet, dass gab die UFC bekannt. Auf welche Substanz er positiv getestet wurde ist bisher nicht bekannt.
Die News kommt nur einen Tag nachdem bekannt wurde das Fabricio Werdum auf Alexey Oleynik trifft bei der UFC Show in Russia am 15 September. Der Fight ist natuerlich gecancelt. Oleynik soll nun bei der Show auf Mark Hunt treffen.
Werdum auesserte sich zu dem positiven Test wie folgt:
“Hey guys, I got up this morning to the news that one of my urine samples from April tested positive for a prohibited substance. I am working with my team, the UFC and USADA to understand what happened.
I’ve always been careful with everything I take and I’ve always supported a clean sport. We will work hard to solve this misunderstanding and I hope soon to be able to go back to the octagon and do what I love.”
