So hier ist es, kaum zu rück schon gepostet^^
First of all thanks a lot, Mr Corino, that you will spend your time for
answering the Questions. I will start right away:
It is my pleasure.
1. During this year you performed in Germany for the GSW - please let us
have your opinion in regard to the European Wrestler`s ?
I think the European wrestlers are some of the hardest working athletes in the world. I was very impressed with the heart they give in each match.
2. Are you able to find a different between the US- Fans and the European
Fans?
US fans have seen it all and I think they forget how great the sport of pro-wrestling is. European fans are hungry for good wrestling and always let their voices be heard in the arenas. Europe is a fun place to wrestle.
3. You often arrange tours through Japan (Zero-One). Your job certainly
quies you a lot of fun, too - more in US - tours or Japan - tours?
I do about 14 tours a year in Japan which keeps me there for about 28-30 weeks so most of my matches are for ZERO-ONE.
4. Could you imagine to do without Japan tours?
Not at all. I love Japan.
5. In the year 2001 you won the traditonal NWA World title, this title
former as, Lou Thesz, Earl Caddock or Harley Race were decorated with. Are you
able to describe your feelings when you had this big triumph?
Can you compare this triumph with the title of ECW?
The NWA World title was the first championship belt I ever saw on TV back when I started watching wrestling so it meant so much to me to win the title. The ECW World title was great also because it was my first World championship.
6. What do you think - in your position as former NWA World Champ - of the
situation at present of the NWA with the President Ernie Todd?
I really don't follow the politics of the NWA anymore.
7. How long will the TNA survive in your opinion?
I hope they survive forever because it is good for pro wrestling to have major companies out there but I do think they need to get away from being a newer version of WCW.
8. What was your experience during the fall of ECW?
It was sad but we knew it was closing and we all got back on the horse and reinvent ourselves. But I wouldnt give any of my ECW memories away for anything. It was a great time.
9. What do you think in regard to the Sportsentertainment Promotions TNA and
WWE - and: according to your oppinion: please let us know what will survive
in future, Sportsentertainment or REAL Pro-Wrestling?
I pray that pro wrestling goes more to wrestling instead of entertainment.
10. Different item: you name yourself "King of Oldschool" what was the
reason for this name?
The King of Old School represents a belief in real pro wrestling, the way it used to be, the way it should be.
11. Which person of Wrestler did ever facinate you? Does there exist any
person which influenced your style?
All the old school guys influenced my style. Wrestlers like Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, Barry Windham, Michael Hayes, Tommy Rich, and Eddie Gilbert were guys that I idolized.
12. Nefercheperur from our board would like to have a very interesting
question answerd: -What do you feel your best quality is as a Wrestler, and what
do you feel is the most important aspect of being a good WRESTLER?
I think my best quality is the ability to tell a story in the ring with anyone. And I think the most important part of being a good wrestler is to learn as many [lexicon]styles[/lexicon] as possible.
13. If you could change one thing about the Sport of Professional Wrestling,
What would it be?
Get away from the T & A in wrestling and spend more time telling a good story in the ring.
14. Now the last question: -What else does the future hold for Steve Corino?
Where do you see yourself in 1 year from now?
Steve Corino is just celebrating 10 years so it is time for a change. Look, style, everything and I hope to make the "reinvention" something special.
Now I would like to do a little Word Association game with you:
-WWE - Need to get back to Pro Wrestling
-Japan - Best place for real pro wrestling
-NWA - Great theory on paper
-Limp Bizkit Concert - too loud
-Paul Heyman - genius
-King of Oldschool - luckiest man alive
Last but not least: is there any message from your side for your German Fans?
Thank you very much for all of your support in the ring and at stevecorino.com. I hope to return to Germany in the near future.
I really would like to express my thanks that you really took your esteemed
time for us.
Anytime, it was my pleasure.
Cold Cabana
[lexicon]Scorpio Sky[/lexicon]
