Ich überlege, ob man hier auch öfter einzelne Interview Segmente mit einbindet ..
Gestern z.B. war die Pressekonferenz zwischen Naito und Okada:

Okada : "It's been a long time since I've sat on this side of the table. I won't just take back the title. I'll make sure to have a ONE ON ONE match worthy of the IWGP with Naito-san."

Naito: "I've been facing Okada for 3 months now, and I can tell he's a little down. Has he been losing his confidence? Is he feeling pressure, now that he knows the owner Kidani is coming to the show? I just want Okada to get his stride back, the kind he had when he 1st came back to Japan as the Rainmaker. 1 thing I wanna say. Okada said he'd do anything I asked. Yet, he didn't. Who does he think he is, asking me favors? If he runs at top speed into the ring, then maybe I'll consider it. But, if I accept your request to make this a 1vs1 match, and you lose? You won't have any more excuses. If he really, really wants me to... *maybe* I'll come to the ring alone."

Okada: "If I lose? *If?* Save your ifs and buts for when I actually lose, *if* I do. I don't know where Naito got the idea that I need more vigor. If I run to the ring, does that mean I'm not down anymore? LIJ is a great team, has great teamwork. If this wasn't an IWGP title match, I'd have no problem with their tricks. Naito needs to stop throwing the title around. It's disrespectful to the other prev. champs, to ppl. striving for it. I want to restore the glory of the IWGP, make it one that ppl. want to go after again."

Naito : "I'm the one holding the title right now. Me. How I treat it is up to me and me alone. If you've got a problem with that? Fine, keep talking. But it'd be easier to just take it from me, beat me for it. Fans who don't appreciate what I do with the title - Okada fans, maybe? Root for the challenger. It's just that simple. You might not hear it, but I can. The belt speaks to me, tells me it's happy to have me throw it around."

Okada : "I don't see this as a battle between Aces. Other ppl. can use that title. With Tana injured & all else that's happened... ...I just want to show ppl. that it'll be Okada at the top, in the end."

Naito: "I don't see it as a battle btwn. Aces, either. I've watched Okada rise to the top. I can't beat what he's accomplished. But right now, who's on top? I am. Our positions have switched. I worked so hard, and got nowhere. I was even a little jealous of Okada, back then. It pains me to see how he's fallen. I just want him to get his vigor back. Just wanna ask - does the owner Kidani count as one of Okada's ringside seconds? No? That's good news for Kidani, isn't it? Imagine if he had to leave with all the other CHAOS guys. My problems w/Kidani started when he announced that 200 mil. yen project - yes, I'm talking about it again, don't give me that look"

Okada: "Osaka is where I 1st won the title. I've lost it there, too. The view from the ring after winning is incomparable. I can't wait to see that view again."

Naito: "I've learned a lot from the Osakan fans over 10yrs. They've made me happy, sad, frustrated...lots of emotions. With all the other fans around the nation jumping on my bandwagon, I just hope Osaka stays the way they were. I look forward to their boos, hard as it may be to resist getting on my side."

Viele Hintergründe der japanischen Fehden gehen wegen der Sprachbarriere ja leider oft verloren.

Ich denke, dass Naito erfolgreich verteidigen wird. Oder es gibt ein Draw und der Titel wird bis zu einem Rückkampf einbehalten. Und ich hoffe sehr, dass sie Ospreay einen Title Run geben. Aber bloß nicht Elgin ^^

Ist eben blöd das Tanahashi verletzt bedingt ausfallen musste, aber ich wünsche mir auch einen langen Naito-Tranquilo Run.

Naja 'Road to ..' Shows finden immer vor einem größeren Event statt und man kann sie eher als Houseshows sehen.
"Ausnahmen" bilden Liveübertragungen bzw. Korakuen-Hall, welche ein besonderes Feeling haben, meistens aber dieselbe Show abhalten.
Ein Singles Match ist da schon rar, solange es nicht für die 'Young-Lions' ist.
Ab und zu kann es dann auch Titelverteidigungen geben wie z.B. bei Tag 6 der Kizuna Road: Shibata vs Honma und The Elite vs Sydal, Ricochet und Kojima.
Wenn das WWE bei RAW (oder Smackdown) machen würde, sinkt das Interesse noch schneller.

Der G1 Climax geht vom 18.07. bis 14.08.
Ähnlich wie bei 'Best of the Super Jr.' kämpfen die Akteure in ihren jeweiligen Blocks untereinander um den Einzug ins Finale.
Ein Sieg bringt 2 Punkte und ein Unentschieden 1 Punkt.
Wer am Ende die meisten Punkte pro Block hat und notfalls im Stechen gegenüber den Anderen gewinnt gelangt ins Finale.
Der "Gesamtsieger" hat die Möglichkeit zwischen NEVER / IC oder Heavyweight Titel zu wählen und gegen den Champion bei 'Wrestle Kingdom' am 04.01. anzutreten.
