NHL 2006/2007 SEASON THREAD

Das NHL All Star Game ist vorbei, doch die International Ice Hockey Federation hat nun eine interessante Idee vorgelegt, demnach soll der Stanley Cup Champion gegen das beste Team Europa`s antretten, in einer art NHL vs Europe All Star Game. In Europa gibt es wohl eine Art “Club Championship“ (koennt ihr sicherlich mehr zusagen, habe ich keine Ahnung), und das Team das das gewinnt, soll dann gegen den Stanley Cup Champion antretten. Laut der IIHF hat man der NHL die Idee unterbreitet, und bis jetzt denkt die NHL darueber nach (was bedeutet das es sehr lange dauern kann).

NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly meinte dazu:”While we are open to exploring a host of ways to co-operate and grow the game internationally, there are naturally many logistical issues that would need to be worked through to move forward with such an exhibition, not the least of which is the timing. I expect we will have further discussions on the concept, but (it is) premature to suggest it is something that will definitely happen in the future.”


Eigene Anmerkung: Genau sowas halte ich fuer viel sinnvoller wie ein “All Star Game“. Man sollte das All Star Game abschaffen, und lieber am ende oder vor einer Season ein NHL vs Europe Spiel machen, wo die beiden Champions gegeneinander antretten. Beide Teams waeren eingespielt, und da wuerde auch Hockey gespielt werden, weil es um Prestige geht. Man koennte das Spiel zum Beispiel im September abhalten vor der Season. Just my 2 Cents.
